Race 1…

Here we go, the race season is upon.. me!  This is one of the earliest I think I’ve ever done.  I’m headed to San Luis Obispo which is about 4.5 hours North of Newport Beach.  The race is an Olympic distance triathlon (1.5K swim, 40K bike and a 10K run).  I’ve done plenty of Olympic distance duathlons but never a tri.

This race will test the legs for next weeks big one, Ironman California 70.3.  Then the week after I’m headed North to Canada to try my luck in endurance running, trying my first 50K run.  I’ve never done a marathon but heck, why not tack on a few more kilometers!

So it’s going to be a week of resting/tidying up my stuff for the trek back to Canada.  I’m excited ot explore our great country!

I’m hoping to get a race result post up sometime Sunday (the race is Saturday).  I’m going to cycle the Pacific Coast Highway South of Santa Barbra on Sunday.  Do an easy ride but take in the beautiful coastline.

Well this kid has got to pack some stuff for the road tomorrow.  I’m hoping to beat the LA traffic.  If you have watched the San Fran video on the LiveMultiSport website, you’d know its hard to beat!
