Flat 1. Flat 2.
I thought getting a flat 10K from my house was bad how about 2 flats with only one tube! The kicker, I punctured about a mile from my house! Somebody upstaris did not want me to enjoy my bike ride!
Besides that they day was great. It’s 25 degrees here (has been for the last 2 days). I’m slowly getting darker as my cycling tan sets in. The ride today ended up being a shade less than a 100K. This day was similar to last Tuesdays except a little longer (and frustrating!). Still doing my high tension intervals. I’m starting to notice a change which is good. I’m able to use the big chain ring plus the smallest on the back. Tour de France here I come!
Yesterday was super tough! Both Chris and I woke up to our quads being nuked from the previous days run. It was all I could do to hobble around. Cycling wasn’t too bad but when I went to run to the gym… I ran like I had something stuck in my, well you know. It was a little awkward.
Those who have done marathons or long runs can attest to how your legs start breaking down; the quads usually taking the full brunt. I have never run down hill for an hour before which is exaclty what we did on Saturday. There are a few things I guess you could do to prevent the muscular soreness such as spinning out the legs after or even jumping into an ice bath. Tops would be to get a massage but neither Chris and I would help each other out with that!
Oh well, a little sorness isn’t going to keep me down! Especially when my Dad tells me that they just got a lot of snow! I’ll train for all of you that can’t!
Thanks for reading, Happy Trainin!

snow, ice, freezing c-cold - I love your mom’s comment!
Sorry about your ‘flats’ lad, and how you felt after the ‘bum’ ride! But you keep on trecking, and I following you. love you.

Sounds like you’re having the ultimate “vacation.” Seeing new country and doing all the physical activity you can possibly squeeze in. Keep healthy and happy, enjoy the periods of recovery - and find someone who can give you a massage!
