Hump de Hump…
I hope everyone got their fill of turkey or tofurkey, I know I did!
This weekend I will be back racing. Saturday will be my first career cross-country race taking place on the fields of O’dell Park, Fredericton NB. I’m more interested in testing my fitness for World’s than a high placing. Not that I will compete any less hard but this race is going to be a good hard practice for AUS at the end of this month.
I’ve had some trouble in the past few weeks balancing hard workouts and rest. Motivation is still good but the body is eyeing the couch! Rest is more important at this point than trying to sneak in those extra miles although I just signed up for the Moncton Marathon so there are those few extra miles!
When my motivation has been down the people around me have really helped me out: being in Ottawa was a great way to recover, my folk’s are always supporting me 100% and last but not least was my brother’s care package arrived with some bling for the bike!
I’ll give my racing thoughts tomorrow. Looks like perfect cross weather, rain and mud!
Happy trainin’!
Cliff

Sweet “go fast” helmet Cliff. Hope it fits better than the one at Riverport!
