Putting Together The Pieces…

July 16th, 2008 by Cliff

I’m enjoying some time off.  Eating a little less, indulging a little more.  Its been nice to wake up only knowing that I have to get to work.  I’m looking forward to the weekend where I can turn off the alarm clock and sleep the day away!

I know that the rest can’t last forever as I do have to prepare for the upcoming months.  Today I drew up a sketch on what the coming weeks are going to look like.  It’s something I enjoy doing, making schedules.  I find it fun to predict and dream of what you want to accomplish.  I have to make the schedule hard enough but make sure to add enough rest to ensure I arrive in November in good form.

Choosing races is my next goal.  Originally I wanted to do a couple of long course tris but I’m thinking that will change.  Living in Canada, your limited to only doing tris in the summer.  That means in the fall I may be starving for some racing.

I’m thinking of doing a couple of 1/2 marathon running races to gear my legs up for the distance.  One is the Army Run.  Should be a fast course.  The second is the Ottawa Fall Colours Run.  There is still a slight possibility of doing races like the Canadian Half and racing in Montreal, Quebec.

Really, who knows how I’m going to feel in a month to two months.  Thats the toughest part of coaching yourself, looking into the crystal ball and seeing how yoour going to feel.

Anywho, I’m off for some pizza (gotta love the no racing!).  Hope everyone is enjoying the summer!

Thanks for reading,

Happy Trainin!
