You do what?
A couple of weeks ago I applied for a quality control engineering job. The description said it was for hockey sticks and baseball bats. Hockey, sweet I thought. After getting an interview I found out that I would mostly be working with baseball bats. Ah well, still in sports.
What do I do? Well, this company, Combat, is growing. Since 2000 the number of bats has been increasing steadily hence why I was hired. Basically I’m quality control / research and design. I test bats, new and old, break bats, new and old and improve bats, new and old. Currently, I’m breaking more than I am inventing.
The job is has been a good success so far. Lots of hands on stuff coupled with some theory.
I’m trying to get used to balancing out my exercise and my job. Right now its going fairly well because I’m tapering for July. I am hoping that afterwards, once Rhode Island is done, that I can ramp up the volume again. Only time will tell I guess.
For now though I’ve got a decent balance (and I’m getting paid!). Although I haven’t seen any of it yet…..
Happy (Come on pay day) Trainin!
