Two weeks down…
Time trial training… oh man it hurts! This was my second week (2 x 7.5K). Today was a little harder and it showed in my speeds.
Week 1* - 5K Average Speeds - 36.1 and 40.1 (km/h)
Wind was hard on the first one. My warm up was also quite bad. I did this on tired legs but it was my only training for the day.
Week 2* - 7.5K AVS - 34.1 and 37.1 (km/h)
Todays test was done into a strong headwind. I did a group swim in the morning and then hopped on my bike nearly after. I thought by doing the swim it would have warmed me up but when I went to do the first interval I couldn’t get settled in until the 6K mark. Second interval was better but still a low speed. I checked my watch after and my heart rate was 10 beats lower than the first.
* Every interval was done from a standstill. The terrain is mostly flat. TTing is done with my road bike with some short aerobars.
Looks like its going to be a beautiful weekend, make sure to get out an play!
